COLORADO (KRDO) – Beginning today, Thursday, September 29, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) will send text and email reminders to Coloradans aged 65 and over. most of which records in the Colorado Immunization Information System show they may be due for an omicron dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) cleared the new dose of omicron earlier this month.
According to the CDPHE, these doses of omicron were formulated to protect against the omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants currently dominant in Colorado and the United States.
Coloradans can find omicron doses at vendors statewide, including 10 community vaccination sites.
The CDPHE said the text messages would come from the number 45778.
