Massillon’s Health Department will distribute free COVID-19 tests on Monday


MASSILLON – The Massillon health department will distribute COVID-19 drive-thru test kits from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at 111 Tremont Ave. SW while stocks last.

Participants will enter the parking lot from First Street SW and stay in the vehicle.

No participants without an appointment will be accepted. People without transportation should call the health agency to arrange a time to collect the test kits.

There will be a limit of two tests per vehicle. When stocks are exhausted, a Nixle alert will be sent via SMS. To receive alerts, send MASSILLON by SMS to 888777.

The tests will not be administered on site. The test is administered at home in collaboration with a telehealth professional. Internet service is required for the test. Instructions are on and in the test kit. Test kits should not be opened until instructed by the online professional assisting the test.

Department of Health staff cannot assist, including administering the test, providing Internet access, or interpreting the results.

The health agency distributed 242 test kits during a driving event in late October. Officials plan to donate more than the first event.
