Edward-Elmhurst Health Community Investment Fund Supports Greater Family Health’s Franklin Park Location

The Edward-Elmhurst Health Community Investment Fund provided funding to Greater Family Health to support its Franklin Park Health Center, which opened on July 25, 2022.

Among dozens of competitive applications totaling more than $11,000,000, Greater Family Health’s application was unanimously approved, 1 of 14 applications funded. The funding, which will be distributed quarterly beginning in August 2022, will be deployed to support staff salaries as these professionals provide pediatric, family medicine and internal medicine care to people whose income falls below 200% of the threshold of federal poverty.

The health center at 10225 Grand Ave. in Franklin Park will focus on residents of Franklin Park, Northlake, Schiller Park and Stone Park, although all are welcome and all receive care regardless of ability to pay. While walk-in visits are welcome, appointments can be made at (844) 599-3700.

Franklin Park Health Center offers:

• Adult and senior health: including health care, chronic disease management, annual and professional medical examinations, laboratory and diagnostic tests, gynecology services for women and free pregnancy tests .


• Pediatric care: including healthy child care, sick care, vaccinations, school and sports physical exams, chronic disease management, and laboratory and diagnostic tests.

• Behavioral health services: including mental health counselling/therapy for individuals, families and groups and medication treatment for opioid use disorders.

• Patient Support Services: including translation, health benefits enrollment, care management, mobile fee rebate program and discounted pharmaceuticals for eligible uninsured patients, transportation/reimbursement assistance, and we welcome the uninsured and most insurance!

The health center includes 15 accommodating exam rooms, two behavioral health offices, a full-service lab operated by LabCorp, and a CLIA-exempt lab for point-of-care testing. 3 full-time practitioners, including the medical director, Dr. Engjellush Sadik, and two medical assistants, provide care at Franklin Park. The site is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony/open house will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25.

Greater Family Health currently provides healthcare services at 11 health centers in DeKalb, Elgin, Hanover Park, McHenry, Palatine, Streamwood, Sycamore and Wheeling. Additional services include family and adult medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, dental care, behavioral health care including counselling, psychiatry, and treatment for substance use disorders , and a range of integrated support services.
